Selection Sixteen is a 1999 album by Squarepusher, released on Warp Records. According to the CD, the cover-art is from a film called Acid Trayners 2, which seems to be different pictures of an oscilloscope. Throughout the record the bass, hooked to an audio/midi converter, played an important part in the composition of synth and drum parts. Squarepusher is the performing pseudonym of Tom Jenkinson, an English electronic music artist signed to Warp Records. He specialises in the electronic music genres of drum and bass and acid, with a significant jazz and musique concrète influence.

Drum and bass (commonly abbreviated to D&B or DnB) is a type of electronic dance music which emerged in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160 190 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy bass, sub-bass lines, and occasional infra-bass lines. Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the United Kingdom rave scene of the very early 1990s.
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rock music is a genre of popular music that entered the mainstream in the 1950s. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country music and also drew on folk music, jazz and classical music. The sound of rock often revolves around the electric guitar, a back beat laid down by a rhythm section of electric bass guitar, drums, and keyboard instruments such as Hammond organ, piano, or, since the 1970s, synthesizers. Along with the guitar or keyboards, saxophone and blues-style harmonica are sometimes used as soloing instruments. In its "purest form", it "has three chords, a strong, insistent back beat, and a catchy melody."

Rachel''s is an American band that formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1991. Former Rodan guitarist, Jason Noble, played music individually and refered to himself as Rachel''s but then began collaborating with now core members, violist Christian Frederickson, and pianist Rachel Grimes. The group''s work is strongly influenced by classical music, particularly inspired by the minimalist music of the late 20th century, and its composition reflects this. While the trio forms the core part of the band, the group''s recordings and performances feature a varying ensemble of musicians, who play a range of string instruments (including viola and cello) in combination with piano, guitars, electric bass guitar, and a drum set that includes a large orchestral bass drum. A key influence on the music of Rachel''s is the music of the English composer Michael Nyman, whose music the group''s work resembles in both instrumentation and compositional style.
