Mixed Blood is a contemporary flute music album, which was released in 1995 and its music has been played by great wooden flute player Jeff Ball. Ball was born in Rockville and used to love pop, instrumental, smooth jazz and soundtrack music. He was fascinated by harmonica in first place but later attended a powwow (a social gathering held by many Native Americans), where he found himself intrigued by Native American wood flute. Jeff Ball was mostly self-taught but received some basic training by a Chochtaw man named Wintamer. During his young age, he was inspired by R.Carlos Nakai and Douglas Spotted Eagle. After his debut, Ball was nominated numerous times for Native American Music Awards and won in 2001. Mixed Blood was his first disc distributed nationally and features bass and other instrumental music added by his brother Randy Ball. Jeff Ball published a book in 1994 “Trailhead of the American Indian Courting Flute”, which included a recording.
Day deals with a sort of personal alienation and the realization that you and the world you've existed in have changed. Sort of the feeling of coming through a tunnel and having no way of relating to things in the same way as before. It was written in late summer/early fall and came together quite naturally....Personal lives were in flux and we were sitting around philly losing our minds. The Districts, a Philadelphia four-piece, return with their first piece of music since their 2015 album, A Flourish and a Spoil. Ordinary Day, mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Explosions in the Sky), gives us a glimpse of what's to come. NPR Music describes the new song as B-side is a cover of Leonard Cohen's legendary song 'Lover, Lover, Lover'. The band's Robby Grote comments, 'Ordinary Day' deals with a sort of personal alienation and the realization that you and the world you've existed in have changed. Sort of the feeling of coming through a tunnel and having no way of relating to things in the same way as before. It was written in late summer/early fall and came together quite naturally... Personal lives were in flux and we were sitting around Philly losing our minds. The Districts are currently putting the finishing touches on a new album coming out later this year via Fat Possum. Next month, they'll begin playing those songs live for the first time at select shows around SXSW before heading on an April headline run. A European tour will follow in May including a stop at The Great Escape. The band will also perform at Osheaga in Montreal in August. A full list of dates is below with more to be announced soon. Die erste EP aus dem vierten Album enthält 4 Tracks mit dem Qualitäts-Siegel engineered, mixed and mastered by Steve Albini.nnDie erste EP aus dem vierten Album enthält 4 Tracks mit dem Qualitäts-Siegel engineered, mixed and mastered by Steve Albini. First ep from their fourth album Off the Map, H-Burns' Six Years contains 4 tracks labeled engineered, mixed and mastered by Steve Albini. And that means: these four extracts suggest a tight album and strong album (as the slogan hammered by Albini feature it, or fuck it), engraved in eight days, with five members (drums, guitars, keyboards , bass), without ever leaving the studio. But that does not tell the whole qualities of the record. After the success of We go way back and his recent collaboration with Chris Bailey of the legendary Australian band The Saints (Album Bailey / Burns), H-Burns continues to make their music evolve in a way less harsh, more ample. H-Burns dropped the plaid shirts. Now here's a great classy band who knows no borders. Off the Map evokes a world with maps and territories which are the cement of the lyrics in total symbiosis with the music: brass performed by the musicians who played on last Wilco's albums, a drummer who hits on a snare drum dating from the 30s, keyboard parts played on vintage instruments that sound as if they had not been practiced for years. Sometimes electric guitar sounds as storm like Crazy Horse used to do it. The voice is a bit broken but lucid, similar to Jason Molina, Will Oldham or Hamilton Leithauser from the Walkmen. A voice that sings as if it wanted something, as if she had lost the way. A voice that tells us we're always near to be off the map. H-Burns new album is also the first release of the label Vietnam, created by So Foot, the monthly soccer magazine that Vox Pop described as a punk magazine that speaks about soccer because it is the real world of contemporary pop. Why did they start a label? Because what really matters is the trip. With or without a map. TRACKS: 1. SIX YEARS 2. APPROACHING 3. MIDWEST 4. CHASE YOU DOWN THE OPEN ROAD
25th ELEFANT RECORDS ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION - We are continuing with the re-releases for Elefant Records' 25th anniversary collection. This time, we're back with a small gem that turned out to be the only full-length from the group formed by Roberto Martín and Silvia Sanz, or as they were also known, NIZA. Their moment on the Spanish pop scene was as fast and bright as a shooting star, and with only one album and two singles their music was heard in France, England, USA, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan Their releases sold out at the speed of light, and the rarities, B-sides, and lesser-known work that were scattered by labels half the world over turned them into collector's items. Canciones De Temporada (2002) was such a special album, marked by those two solstices - summer and winter - that closed each of the sides of the vinyl. In hindsight, we have the feeling it was an unpredictable incident, an exquisite earthquake, something inimitable. Mark Radcliffe played them on the BBC, LAMPCHOP had them as special guests in three concerts in Spain, the first edition of their album was sold out in less than a month, they were at the top of best-seller lists in FNAC after being named Talento FNAC, they participated in the Soft Pop Tour in Madrid, they performed with Britain's TREMBLING BLUE STARS, HARPER LEE, and LOVEJOY, their albums were licensed for sale in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan What they did worked so well it seemed simple, but it wasn't. Songs that mixed pop with a soul accent, lounge music, chamber folk, electro-pop, and bossanova. Influences like Claudine Longet, Astrud Gilberto, Jeanette, and LE MANS. That delicate and precious pop spirit, with great attention paid to every single detail that makes up the album, is what brought them national and international recognition. The album credits made it clear that this was not a public secret, but something much bigger: Guille Mostaza (ELLOS) on bass, Eric (LOS PLANETAS) on drums and percussion, Guille Milkyway (LA CASA AZUL) singing on Parasol, the Granada City Orchestra giving prestige to the wind and string arrangements, produced and mixed by Ian Catt (SAINT ETIENNE, THE FIELD MICE, SHAMPOO, THE SCHOOL, and a long etcetera), recorded in the Refugio Antiaéreo in Granada by Carlos Hernández (LOS PLANETAS, COOPER, AIRBAG...) "Déjà Vu" is a song by American R&B singer-songwriter Beyoncé Knowles, featuring rapper artist Jay-Z. It was produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Knowles for her second solo album, B'Day. The song combines contemporary R&B and '70s funk and its varied instrumentation includes bass guitar, hi-hat, horns, and the Roland TR-808 drum machine. The song's title and lyrics refer to a woman being constantly reminded of a past lover. The song was released as the album's lead single in July 2006. Although it was recognized as "Best Song" at the 2006 Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, "Déjà Vu" received mixed reviews from critics. The single entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine's component charts and reaching number one in the United Kingdom. The single's music video displeased fans, thousands of whom petitioned for it to be re-shot, citing its sexual theme and Knowles' wardrobes, among other reasons.
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ayreon is a project by Dutch composer and musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon's musical style derives mostly from heavy metal and progressive rock, but combines them with genres like folk, classical and electronica to form what some call a completely new style of music. The majority of Ayreon's albums are dubbed "rock operas" because the albums contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, each represented by a unique vocalist. Ayreon's music is characterized by the use of traditional instruments in rock music (guitars, bass guitar, drums, synthesizers, electric organs) mixed with instruments more native to folk and classical music (i.e. mandolins, violins, violas, celli, flutes, sitars and didgeridoo). Lucassen writes the music and the lyrics, sings and plays instruments on all of the Ayreon albums, alongside many guest musicians, but the drums are played by Ed Warby most of the time, so he is considered as a member, even though he's not an official one. Arjen has said he will keep making Ayreon music until the day he loses love for music or until the day he dies.
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Trevor Roy Dunn (born January 30, 1968) is an American composer, bass guitarist and double bassist. Dunn came to prominence in the 1990s with the experimental heavy metal group Mr. Bungle. He has since worked in an array of musical styles, notably with singer and Mr. Bungle co-founder Mike Patton, with saxophonist/composer John Zorn, and with the group Secret Chiefs 3. After four years of studying the clarinet, Dunn began playing electric bass at the age of 13. His earliest musical influences included the Beach Boys, Blondie, Cheap Trick, and Kiss. In 1986, Dunn formed Mr. Bungle with vocalist Mike Patton and guitarist Trey Spruance. Mr. Bungle's early compositions mixed thrash metal, hard rock, and funk with an air of adolescent humor and vulgarity. With a background in metal, Dunn branched out his musical abilities playing jazz around San Francisco while immersing himself in different music. Mr. Bungle released four demo tapes in the mid to late 1980s before being signed to Warner Bros. Records and releasing three full-length studio albums between 1991 and 1999.
